F-35 Beta...will actually be an Alpha.

I'll be reviewing the applications for Beta testing tonight - my apologies for the delay, but these are pretty busy days for me...

Speaking of the Beta...well technically it will be an Alpha, i.e. will not be feature complete. More specifically, the MFD will work as initially intended...but I am having some ideas on how to improve it. Also, Jivko Rusev is working to an accurate HMD based on all the information available on the real one so far - but may not be included in the Beta build.

Long story short, this Beta will be focused on the visual model (external and virtual cockpit) and the flight model, while the cockpit will lack some of the planned functionality.

The Beta will feature the AA-1 prototype only, while the final packge will also have AF-1 (I'm still undecided if it will be in the actual "upainted" colors, or in the AF-1 scheme showed a while ago by LM) and an operational version.
F-35B and F-35C, at least for the moment, are being left out. I know that many of you are waiting for them but I want to be sure that the F-35A is as good as it can (reasonably) be before making anything else.

On the good side, I've tried it under SP2 and seems to work (with the exception of the features borrowed from the stock Hornet).

You could make the F-35B and the F-35C expansion packs.

so the F35 your makeing atm is just the F35A and wont hover ? because the F35B is the VTOL aircraft of the 3

@ Chris
This is an option I am evaluating.

@ Jake
You are correct. My F-35 model will depict the Conventional Take Off and Landing version

@ All

I have not finished reviewing the applications... hope I will complete the review tonight.
Also, Beta build was ready...but I finally got a decent picture of the canopy frame, so I am changing the 3d model of the VC to match those pictures.

@ Jake

I'd love to make both the F-35C and F-35B, too...but I am not sure when I'll find the time and most probably will not be included in the package.
It will depend on the feedback on the Beta - if there are not many things to be fix I may be able to do them in a month or two...

Just curious, are you going to have a post to let everyone know that all the emails have gone out?

It's just that a couple people I know who signed up already received their emails yesterday, but I haven't received anything yet.

@ Orion

I've picked the testers yesterday...but I've not finished sending all the emails - I've received like 80-90 applications and I'm replying to each one.

Will finish tonight, probably. I cannot access my home email from my office.

I wish not concur on it. I over warm-hearted post. Especially the title-deed attracted me to review the sound story.

Have the e-mails been sent out yet?

Be patient.

Still not finished with the emails - I've sent most of them but not all. I am sorry for the delay, but I'm using a web-based web service that isn't really good for managing emails and multiple responses - so I am replying one by one.
