F-35 Project version 3.00

Here are some preview pictures of the new version of the F-35 for Prepar3D v2.5.
This new version will be an improvement of the previous freeware package.
Some of the main features will be:
- Focus on F-35B model
- Higher detail external model with better textures...
- Updated virtual cockpit, with higher definition textures and improved modeling
- Support for TFLIR, DAS, ASR modes (tbc)
- Improved fidelity of pilot interface
- Improved flight model (according to the latest publicly available information)

...project resources and technical constraints are limiting the scope of the project to the F-35B (STOVL) only. There is some chance I will include the F-35A (CTOL), too... while at the moment the -C (CATOBAR) version is ruled out (more details to follow).
My scope is to keep the project FREE, but the development costs have been relatively high so far... so I may need to ask for a small admission fee for this one.

The development platform will be PREPAR3D 2.5 - this does not mean that it will be surely totally uncompatible with FSX (except P3Dv2-specific features, of course), but rather than FSX compatibility is not a priority. If I will have the chance to easily support FSX I will, but do not count on it.

Also, this means that the work on MB.339 and Eurofighter Typhoon is "on hold". I still wish to do both, but I do not have the time to do everything and this looks by far the most promising (and less time consuming) project.

As a person who can rarely use P3D due to his system's sorely lacking specifications, I have to admit I sometimes envy P3D users (though I still don't like its tendency to overly darken aircraft textures!). Whatever you choose to do, I wish you success & good luck, Dino, you really have provided us with some excellent stuff. I hope you won't forget us FSX users altogether and will release your final updates for your previous projects before stopping developing them completely :-)

By the way, I'd like to ask when we can expect your final updates for the Goshawk and MB.326, Dino. They are both fabulous at the moment (the Goshawk is especially AMAZING after so many updates by you, and the MB.326 really has an awesome flight model which makes it a PURE JOY to fly!), and I can't wait for the final remaining bugs to be fixed.

Hope to hear from you soon, Dino! :-)

Dino,

you have provided outstanding aircraft and I for one have no problem paying for your products. Keep pressing ahead and look forward to your F-35B update.

thanks
Chuck

Thanks for your support - I have not yet decided what will be the distribution policy for the F-35.

At the moment the focus is to enlarge the project scope to include the F-35A.

@Anonymous

As for the "final" versions, thing is as follows... I will update the products whenever I feel the need to. They will never be perfect, they will never be complete, they will never be exactly like the real deal.
But, from time to time, I may want to update them.

For the moment, two updates I may be looking into are:
- P3Dv2 specific version of the T-45C
- S-3B Viking (much needed IMHO)...

But again, this is just a hobby...

Is the current F-35 v2.41 compatible with P3D now or do we have to wait for the update?

ScimmiaSpaziale said...

v2.41 is fully compatible with P3D+Tacpack ...but with the same functionality as in FSX.

Note that some users experienced issues with STOVL module failing to load (due to intallation / dll authorizations IMHO...it works perfectly on my system)

Fantastic news, I look forward to version 3. I will willingly pay a small entry fee to help cover your development costs.

Ant estimate on release date?

Regards. John

Dino,

Will VRS' decision to only provide Tackpack for P3D Academic affect how you can code that into the aircraft you are doing? P3D Professional will not be supported and I know most bought that for the functionality and to match it closer to FSX.

I've only recently discovered your aircraft and was immediately impressed. I tracked down your website and need to tell you that your are truly an inspiration to us all. I see that you have stated many times that this is just a hobby. Sir, it's not just a hobby, but your passion and attention to detail that breathes life into this community.

Dino,
This is my first time posting here, and I would like to say that I know how it is when life gets in the way of things. I've followed your productions for years now and they have always been just as good, if not better than any payware craft I own. I would be more than willing to pay for your projects.

Have a good flight.
-Joe
