What's up with the Tomcat?

I guess it is time for a brief Tomcat update, since so many are asking. Well, basically an Alpha version is ready...and has been ready for some weeks now. There are just few bits missing here and there, specifically:
- The outer model is done, but there is chance to add some more eye candy...
- The RIO cockpiy is practically done, but mostly INOP. And need some minor details.
- The code for some systems and gauges is buggy and incomplete.
So it is flyable (and fun!), but I'd prefer to make some progress before releasing a public Beta. I cannot say how long it will take...it is mainly depending on the time I will have. I believe it will require no less than 10 hours to bring it where I'd like it to be for the Beta...so maybe it will be ready in a couple of weeks or so.

Here are some pictures:

Looking great! Can't wait to get my hands on it :) Are you gonna do closed beta like you did with Goshawk? J.

First of all Dino I would like to thanks you for your efforts.
You give to use wonderfoul planes and you do it for free, a strange and unusual behavior in this time...
The T-45 is stunning, the F-35 is even better, and your comment on this blog are frequent and very professional.
I have only a wish for Tomcat: Take your time and enjoy your passion, we know that the longer it takes to be developed and the better will be the plane.
Un saluto da Torino.(Byebye from Turin)

I'm constantly checking your page and waiting for this Tomcat to be finally out there, and I just gotta say, please take your time, don't mind me going nuts here... haha no but really, take the time to enjoy working on it, it's gonna be amazing and we're gonna love it as we already do with everything else you've released, but don't let us push you into feeling pressed, you're an artist and we'll love it when it comes out, all this expectation is part of the enjoyment! Peace

Eduardo

Well, thanks for the appreciation...although I am surely not an artist!

And then it is not much a question of making people happy - it is just that I would like to release the Tomcat asap. I believe it is my best work so far.

Dino..I think we are all in agreement that YOU are Flightsim GOD with the amazing products you create...ALL products are always compared to you and Javier's Nimitz...so THANK YOU.

Now with regard to ue new Tomcat...will it be able to kneel when doing a catshot???

Take your time buddy, you are one of the best plane makers out there. We can all wait for the Tomcat until you are ready release it.I would rather have a fully finished one than one that was rushed out.

One more thing, I would love it if you ever created an F-16, kirk olson's model is out dated and I am sure yours would be far superior.

Well, Kirk's model was a little masterpiece for its time... and there are interesting payware alternatives. Still, I've never fell in love with the Viper - I don't know why...so it is not on my list at the moment.

No sweat, just dreaming. Thanks again

Yeah the F-16 would be great, but F-14's are also my top favorites, and would gladly donate to your fine work. Take your time, and make it the masterpiece we know you will make it :)
