Instructor cockpit

A couple of (unusally) rainy days and several requests...and the instructor cockpit for the Goshawk is almost done. It is not ready to be shown yet, as it is missing the textures, but it is coming along quite nicely - and shoul be ready by the end of the month.

Quite honestly, I'd prefer working on the new Lightning II or on the Tomcat... but it is true that the Goshawk without the instructor cockpit is somewhat incomplete. By the way the two cockpits are similar but not identical - and the unique controls of the rear cockpit will not be functional (as they either have no function in FSX -like the ejection seat sequence control switch- or too long/difficult to implement - i.e. the gunsight).

A note to repainters (if any): the rear cockpit will need an unique texture sheet and changes to the existing cockpit textures, but the outer model and its texture layout is unchanged.

Also, if I will have the time, I will also add a "Pensacola" Goshawk and an USMC repaint (as there is only one currently in the package).

I have almost completed a VT-86 bird. I few issues have cropped up. Is there a paint kit?

Unfortunately the implementation of the field bypass switch is not trivial as it may seem. Most likely will not be included in the update - sorry.

    @Russ
No, I have no paintkit. I just have a non-weathered, non-marked, non detailed, texture sheet I use sometimes as starting point.
Please drop me a PM at SOH - if you are at a good point I'd include that repaint in the package.

The only thing lacking is the work on the tail. I managed to change everything else by making a Photoshop psd file.

I sent you an e-mail to the address I had. I don't know if you got it.

  5. Russ,

I do not use that address anymore due to an incredible amount of spam.
But I can still access to it and retrive the file - Thank you.

I now use a different email address which I am trying to keep as private as possible, hence the request to contact me via SOH.

  13. Dino,
I just wanted to say thanks for your outstanding work on the T-45. I am a former avionics tech on the TA-4J and OA-4M aircraft (USMC 1977-1985). (Yeah I'm old, lol)
Just wanted to show some appreciation for your outstanding work and contribution to the Flight Simulator community. Good Luck on your future projects.

  14. Hi Dino,

Ok, not that I am perfect but I am having problems on landing in the new T-45C. I almost think that the landing gear need to be beefed up a little more. I've had several instances where I am on speed (yellow doughnut in the AOA indicator), with under a 500fpm rate of decent and if I don't add a little bit of flare at touchdown the aircraft crashes. This is a naval aircraft and I shouldn't have to flare at all but just fly the AOA and rate of decent right onto the runway without any pull. Only if I add a little flare in can I keep from crashing. Everything else is fine but I'm getting tired of my flight resetting every time I try and do touch and gos! I can only get through 1 touch and then crash!

I should also add that I am not doing these landings at max weight...I start in the landing pattern with 70% or less fuel. Things do seem better the lower I am on fuel but according to NATOPS you should be able to land the T-45 even at max weight. I know the gear was beefed up to the old values of the original FSX T-45 but maybe they need a touch more? Have you heard of anyone else with this problem?

  15. you can increase the landing gear max ft/min in aircraft.cfg or just turn off crash detection in the sim.

from 1800 to say 2000 for front and 2500 for rear wheels.

  16. Dino,
I have been a huge fan of all your work and especially love the T-45 (old and new). A special thank you for going the extra mile to create the instructor cockpit... This is something that I have been waiting for a long time. Thanks again for all of your hard work, it is gorgeous!
